The Call of the Frozen North

“When I’m calling yoo-oo-oo-oo-oooo-ooo….”

Wait, I AM calling you! Calling you to prepare a dainty donation for the VRAffle 2009! And to join Dudley Do-Right, Nell, Snidely Whiplash and the Trusty Huskies for this year’s VRAffle fun on Saturday night, March 22 from 6:00 to 7:30. All VRAffle proceeds go to plump up the VRA Travel Awards. As an added incentive,

The VRAudevillians

shall be performing an original melodrama by the Unknown Playwright,

“The Call of the Frozen North”

for your bemusement prior to the drawing, beginning at 6:00 p.m. You won’t want to miss this finale of the entire conference! It’s free (so no refunds will be given!)

Ticket Prices

Tickets will be the usual price of 1 for $2US, 6 for $10US. Canadian currency will buy tickets at the same rate, set to the equivalent exchange rate for Wednesday, March 18, This rate will be posted at the VRAffle tables and will remain throughout the conference for VRAffle ticket purchases. Traveler’s checks and personal checks will be accepted in both currencies. No credit card purchases are available at this time.

Donations and donation forms

We can’t stress enough how generous and clever members have been in the past and make a special plea for forethought this year in choosing your items for the VRAffle. Crossing an international border is likely for most attendees, so please think small when it comes to your donation, especially Chapter ensembles. Kindly omit foodstuffs and particularly glass bottles of liquids as this could hamper passage into and out of the great nation of Canada. Items may be shipped to America but customs forms and additional costs will apply. You will find a link below to a downloadable donation form to fill out and bring with your donation. There will be forms onsite as well.

Volunteer to Tend the VRAffle Tables

VRA always relies on volunteers to tend the VRAffle tables. On this page is also a link to the VRAffle volunteer online form. There you will find the days and hours available for volunteering to staff the VRAffle tables selling tickets, performing in-take of donations, preparing for the drawing and generally classing up the place.
