Tansey Event The 2009 Tansey Fundraising Event: “Live! The Second City” The Tansey Fundraiser will bring you something we all need – lots of laughter, with “Live! The Second City”. We are thrilled to have a private performance from the famed Second City improv comedy group. They’ll be combining very funny sketches with improvisational bits using suggestions from the audience. The Second City began in Chicago in 1959, quickly growing from stage shows to tours, television specials, and training workshops. The Second City Toronto was born in 1973, which added SCTV in the late1970s, one of the best sketch comedy shows ever. Some of the finest comic actors of the last 30 years trained with Second City Toronto, including Dan Akroyd, Gilda Radner, Mike Myers, John Candy, Catherine O’Hara, Eugene Levy, and Martin Short, to name but a few. Join us on Friday, March 20 for what is sure to be a very fun fundraiser – and, all profits will go into the Tansey Travel Award fund.
