Use the Deed of Gift when an Image Donor wants to donate his/her visual materials along with the rights in those materials. The Deed of Gift may be used when the Donor does not want to have to manage any uses of the images again.

The Deed of Gift form asks the Donor to respond to several questions to help inform the recipient institution whether any third persons or organizations have any rights in the visual materials being donated.

License Agreement:

Use the License Agreement when an Image Donor wants to provide a copy of his/her visual materials to an educational or cultural institution, but also wants to make other uses of those materials or give copies of those same materials to others.

Using the License Agreement, the person providing the visual materials to an institution is only giving limited permission to use those materials for certain purposes. The person providing the materials retains any copyrights s/he holds in those materials.

The License Agreement asks the Donor to respond to several questions to help inform the recipient institution of the uses that may be made of the visual materials.
