If
you
are flying to the conference , the
Ft.
Lauderdale /Hollywood Airport is actually closer
(by
a few miles) to
the
Wyndham
Miami Beach
Resort.
The airport
is conveniently
located
in central
Broward
County,
making
it useful
for
residents
of the
entire
tri-county
area. While
smaller
then Miami
International
Airport,
it is
currently
undergoing
a multi-million
dollar
expansion
to double
its size.
There are
35 airlines
at the
airport.
Miami
International Airport is among the busiest airports
in the world. There are over one hundred
airlines serving MIA. When arriving on a domestic
flight or from Canada or the Bahamas, you will
need to walk down your Concourse to the Terminal. You
will be on Level 2 and must take the elevator
or escalator to Level 1 to claim your baggage.
Ground transportation is
immediately outside the Terminal on the Level
1.
However, no
matter at which airport you choose to arrive ,
Ft. Lauderdale or Miami International, be
prepared
for
at
least
a
half
hour commute to the hotel.
From
the Ft. Lauderdale
Airport taxis
will
run
about
$60 -$75 one way, so its best to share the ride.
Airport
shuttles
run between $22 and $45, so choose carefully.
Both
taxi and shuttle prices
are slightly less from the Miami International
Airport, airfare to Miami International cost
more. Do so research before you leave home
